How To Draw A Cauldron Step By Step

I've got another Halloween-themed tutorial for everyone! This time, we will learn how to draw a bubbling witch's cauldron. Although this is meant mainly for Halloween, a cauldron can have other uses as well. You might be drawing a scene involving a wizard or you may simply need to draw a cauldron for a medieval tavern setting.

Step 1

Draw the top opening of the cauldron. Just an ovular shape at the top of your paper.

Step 2

Draw a slightly larger oval around the previously drawn oval. This will be the lip of the cauldron.

Step 3

Next, we are going to draw the belly/body of the cauldron. It has a round drop-like appearance and is very round at the bottom. In the center of your cauldron's base, leave it blank. This will be for the middle leg on the cauldron.

Step 4

Start drawing some legs on the cauldron. Start with the one in the middle.

Step 5

Now, draw the legs on the outer portion of the cauldron. Just one leg on either side of the belly.

Step 6

Now that we have the overall cauldron completed, it's time draw in the handles. Draw two handles similar to one another. One handle on either side, close to the lip.

Step 7

Draw in some details on your cauldron. Maybe just a few faint lines for shadows on parts of the lip, on the under belly and legs or on the inner parts of the handles.

Step 8

Last but not least, it's time to draw in some bubbling substance inside of the cauldron. A witch's brew. Just imagine how water boiling in a pot would look like. Very bubbly and sizzled.
